Cute start of a paranormal cozy mystery series! Chantilly Adair is a 45 year old mother of a tween and newly divorced woman who has come back to her hometown to settle into her old family home. When the town’s curmudgeonly top restauranteur and BBQ master is murdered and Chantilly is a suspect, she unleashes her new psychic power to help prove her innocence and assist in solving a new murder but also a legendary murder of hundreds of years before. The characters are like a glass of southern sweet tea mixed with the right amount of sass. Looking forward to the next book.

I typically like this subject matter, but the execution of this book left me feeling like something was missing. The writing didn’t draw me in, and the pacing was painfully slow. I also thought the banter between the local ladies to be a bit too over-the-top southern. I’ll probably not continue with this series.

I've been reading a lot of paranormal cozy mysteries and I like the genre. This wasn't one of the best, it was ok no real problems but I'm reading better series.
