Freeman is an excellent storyteller. I get sucked into the lives of his characters so easily and have a hard time putting each book down. The atmosphere in this one was chilling and the plot was full of twists and turns. Highly recommend this whole series.

Another great book by Brian Freeman. This time I've learned to not assume the guilty party is who everything thinks is guilty. As usual you learn what really happened towards the end of the book as pieces of the puzzle start coming together.

I'd highly recommend all of his books!

BEST so far! So many twists and unexpected events I could not put it down! Brian Freeman is an amazing storyteller giving you enough details to let your imagination place you in the moment! Exhilarating-- did not know I was holding my breath until I exhaled.

The night teenage Jonathan Stride first had sex with his future wife Cindy, her sister Laura was brutally murdered. Thirty-five years later Cindy is dead of cancer, and Laura's best friend, now a writer, has come back to town looking for answers about the murder. Stride, now a detective, finds himself drawn into her search. This was a well-written, suspenseful novel that kept me guessing about the identity of the killer until the end, although other things were more easily figured out.
