How to Be Free is A.A. Long's translation of Epictetus's Encheiridion, plus nine excerpts from three of Epictetus's surviving discourses. Well worth studying. It's fascinating to me that, through his study and teaching of Stoic philosophy, Epictetus arrived at conclusions and practices that are consistent with much of our understanding of psychology and human/organizational behavior today. This Princeton University Press edition is a nicely bound hardcover, with the original Greek on the left side pages and the English translation on the right side pages. It also includes an introduction by A.A. Long. Lots of takeaways...I'll return to this volume often.
