I adored this book! It’s has this haunting atmosphere  but also manages to feel like a warm hug at times.

For the first third I was more into the characters than the plot, but when things kicked into gear, I could barely put it down. It was such a page turner! And the characters still managed to be captivating and lovable through it all.

EDIT: One thing that did constantly bug me is that Isla’s hair is almost never described in a positive light. I understand how it could be a hassle to her, but as someone with a similar hair texture, it was frustrating to read.

This is probably one of the best books I've read recently. The mystery is just twisty enough to be very engaging but still satisfying to figure out; probably the hardest thing to do in writing.

The characters themselves are delightful and realistic, and their relationships are engaging.

I got in trouble for spending an extra ten minutes on lunch while reading this because I reached 5h3 climax and couldn't stop.

All around, this was a delight to read.
