I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

So, I got to confess that I got nothing with The Simpsons show. Nothing. I tried watching it, but it just wasn’t my show. However, I couldn’t resist this fun cooking book. While the Simpsons may not be my show I do know some of the food things one sees on the show and also a lot of the characters, thanks to the internet. Plus, I am always eager to learn new recipes/find new recipes to make at home.

This one was a ton of fun to read! Some references I got (yay internet) and others not, but I still really liked them! The recipes are very easy to follow and all get a fun introduction telling you about the show/the food item you will be making. There are cooking-tips to give some extra flavour to recipes or what to look out for with ingredients. I definitely got hungry while reading (and that while just having had breakfast). Quite a few of the recipes had photographs with how the food item would look like if you are done. While I loved these, I would have liked photographs for EVERY recipe. For me it is so important to see what the food will look like, as I often base my “should I try this one or not” on photographs.

I love that each recipe has a what episode was this food featured/mentioned on including the season number. That is such a nice addition, now you can watch the show while eating that specific food item. Not something I would do of course, but a die-hard fan, I can see them do that. Haha, I know I would have done that if I was a fan of a show and had a food item that matches.

I am glad that they added a conversion chart for US/Metric, though that one is at the last pages of the book. I would have rather seen things be directly converted instead of someone, like me, who lives in metric like most of the world, have to go back and forth and write all the things done. Plus converting… it is just annoying. I have tried making recipes with converting but it just gets too mathy for me and the joy is out of it.

All in all though, this was a fun cookbook and I am happy I got the chance to try it out. I would definitely recommend it!

Very cute and informative book. I can see where all the inspiration has came from with these recipes. I can imange people doing some of these and getting big as not exactly healthy. Would be good for any Simpson fan

This is a perfect gift for Simpsons fans everywhere - the recipes were fun, varied and actually achievable in the average home (something not so many novelty cookbooks manage to do.)

The bright colours, illustrations and information about the TV show and how their recipes linked was plentiful. I’ve bought several copies to give as gifts already.

I really love how bright and colorful this cookbook is. I also love how it's divided up into different meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks, and desserts. I loved the Simpsons when I was younger, so I'm really excited to try some of these recipes. They're simply laid out and have really easy instructions, so that is really nice and helpful. I also really like how each recipe says which season or episode it came from so that I can go back and watch them if I want to.
