i really enjoyed seeing the perspective of laura on motherhood having no kids (and no desire to have any). women that decide to not have kids are heavily judged. despite not wanting kids of her own, we get to follow laura around as she becomes attached to her young neighbor and wanting the best for him and his mom. 

i was also completely enthralled by alina's experience with her child. watching her try to figure out how to navigate against hard decisions (terminating her pregnancy, giving her daughter a pill to die, etc.), she really has no guidance on what the right thing to do in these situations is. 

i wish i read this as an ebook or physical book. i think it would have been more powerful and a higher rating from me!

excellent, compelling and very nuanced. ultimately this book explores the consequential decison of having children. i dont think it changes my views on having children but still, this is one will stay with me for a long time.
