Über weite Strecken spritzig und kurzweilig formuliert. Lesenswert, auch wenn man den Roman, auf den sich die Nachschrift bezieht, nicht gelesen hat. Eco sprüht einfach bei allem, was er schreibt, vor Mitteilungsfreude und Virtuosität.

Was this better than the book itself? It's difficult to judge something so intertwined. In any case, this is the sort of writing on writing, on reading, that I've always wanted to read. Eco is brilliant and I'm so pleased I read this right after finishing the novel.

Probablemente he releído el apostillas más veces que el mismo libro... y no deja de parecerme interesante la forma en que se plantean los problemas de escribir...
Y si están las traducciones de los textos latinos una curiosidad, aún recuerdo el impacto de leer una suerte de garabato en latín, una tontera quizás, pero el recordatorio de que la vida es así (por algo el Ulysses de Joice también tiene su minuto en el baño).

La naturalidad y honestidad de Eco en su explicación del ideario de su célebre novela, El nombre de la rosa, es una maravilla. Leer los entresijos de una historia y su elaboración nunca había sido tan interesante.
