This book left me feeling empty. It is a very bleak read, yet kept me (and the narrator) hopeful the whole time. I did appreciate how the meaning of this book developed for me throughout its entirety. It really makes you question what makes yourself and others more human. Considering the cult following and great reviews, I expected more. Even though this was a shorter read, I felt that it did drag on.

This is my first 5 star read since February and what is good read this was. It’s been on my tbr for awhile but I was so caught up in getting through the million different series I started. I fell behind on my reading goal and picked this up because it was short and I figured it’d be quick to get through. I reflected so much on womanhood and humanity.
