Jinwoo is closer to getting the materials that he needs to save his mother, but will it be enough? And should he be able to save her, is there anything left to do? At the same time, the S-Rank hunters from Korea and Japan come together to test out their abilities, and to finally take back Jeju Island from the powerful ants.

It's great to see different worlds colliding, in more ways than one. Some of the other S-Rank hunters are more keen than they let on. And what about the demons? Is there something more to them than just being mindless monsters that everyone thinks they are? And what about the system? Is it just a video game, or is there more to it than that? Can't wait to find out in the next volume.

I kind of like that Jinwoo had to split his demon tower quest up into three different trips, before he was able to complete it. He is becoming wildly overpowered, but at least he does face some struggles while working on becoming super duper strong.

Summary:

Jinwoo Sung has a reputation among the other hunters and dungeon adventurers – he's known as the Weakest Hunter of All Mankind. Yeah, quite the blow to one's ego. Yet Jinwoo can't give up this job, as his mother's hospital bills keep on climbing.

However, one job changed everything. It should have been a regular dungeon, but it quickly became life-or-death. Somehow Jinwoo survived – but he's forever changed. Now, he's working hard to level up and change the game.

Review:

Time for me to dive back into the world of Solo Leveling! (Side note: I wonder how many volumes I need to read before I can watch the show without fear of spoilers? I’m afraid to look it up, thanks to the ironic risk of spoilers). Solo Leveling Vol. 6 brings us back into Jinwoo’s world, his dungeon quest.

I’ll admit it - I enjoyed the whole dungeon dive. Primarily, it was fascinating seeing other people (creatures?) who could see the dungeon levels and systems the same way Jinwoo could. Likewise, the reason for Jinwoo doing all of this was driven home in this volume; It’s an important reminder that it wasn’t all about power.

This volume definitely has some of the better fights thus far, and that’s saying something. Check it out if you’re looking for meta and epic-scale battles - it won’t disappoint you.

I definitely understand why so many compare this to hunter x hunter now, there are many similarities, but it is still unique in some ways. This volume was a tad bit boring as there was a lot of information, a few side character intros, and a battle that was a tad bit underwhelming. I still love this manga as a whole though. ❤️
