This book? So so good, but not at all what I was expecting going into it, especially with a title like “sex, not love”. Having read so many of Vi Keeland’s novels at this point, I should be used to the unexpected but damn, I don’t think I’ll ever be prepared for what this woman puts me through in these novels. But this one, I was in love and in pain all in the same go.
Hunter? He might be the filthy mouth love of my life.
This book was good from beginning to end. Hunter is potty mouthed and gorgeous as hell and he had my heart the second I met him. (Vi Keeland writes some of the best males characters ever, imo) He’s funny, charming, sweet as hell and hot too; but more than that Hunter had heart. You couldn’t help but love the guy.
I did not expect halfway through the turn this would take and I certainly did not expect half of the emotions I’d feel as a result.
When that little twist came up, I was about ready to put this baby down, if I’m honest. The last time I read a book by Vi Keeland that followed a degenerative disease plot, I sobbed for ages. I was not prepared to do that again but I had to know how it ended and boy am I glad that I suck it up and stuck through.
I loved this book so much, I don’t think I can even explain it. All the characters were so good and so fun, even the side characters. And you know it’s a good one when you’re even kind of obsessed with the side characters.
Vi Keeland truly can do no wrong in my eyes and this book is undeniable proof of that.

La semaine dernière, j'ai dévoré ce nouveau roman de Vi Keeland en deux "sessions", et je me suis traînée au boulot comme une âme en peine le lundi, tellement j'avais envie de lire la suite (et la fin) du livre après avoir dû m'arrêter la veille au soir. Bref ...
Vi Keeland a encore une fois su me toucher, me charmer, m'émouvoir et me faire soupirer de contentement. Elle a un talent fou pour ses héros, pour mettre en avant des hommes qui nous séduisent au même rythme qu'ils séduisent l’héroïne. J'aime aussi que bien souvent, et cette fois-là ne fera pas exception à la règle, le personnage masculin soit si doux et si tendre, qu'il nous surprenne avec sa vulnérabilité.
Le jeu du chat et de la souris court ici sur des longs chapitres, des jours et des mois s'écoulent à chaque fois, mais le feu est savamment entretenu, et lorsque la reddition arrive ... mais quel délice !!
Alors oui, on devine assez aisément certaines choses et on pourrait largement se passer de certains rebondissements totalement inutiles, mais je n'ai vraiment pas boudé mon plaisir. J'ai été conquise par Hunter, touchée par Natalia, touchée aussi par la relation qu'elle entretient avec Izzy, et qui prend une tournure complètement différente avec l'arrivée de Hunter dans leurs vies. La romance est sexy et pétillante, mais aussi teintée de gravité, de craintes et de non-dits.
Vi Keeland nous offre une très belle romance remplie d'espoir et de douceur, sans oublier évidemment la touche drôle et sexy dont elle a le secret !

What can I say, I absolutely loved this book. I don't think I've finished a book as quickly as this one in a long, long time. Fantastic writing, amazing characters with such detailed back stories and just fire hot chemistry.
