The interconnected stand-alones of the Aristocrat Diaries are fun, quick romps with great wit, humor, heartfelt moments and just a dash of rom-com steamy.

I was eagerly anticipating Eva's story from the teaser at the end of her twin Adelaide's story, Dating the Duke, and found The Accidental Countess to be just as charming as the rest of the series, if a bit rushed.

Eva and Matthew go from casual fling, to married, to expecting in a blink! I felt like there were several heartfelt moments that were building to something more that fizzled out or were forgotten altogether.

SpoilerFor instance Matthew finds a ring left to him by his father and it seemed like a moment would be forthcoming where he'd give that ring to Eva but the story ended rather abruptly after the two admitted their feelings to one another. Then the epilogue four years later.

The epilogue was a rather nice surprise look four years into the future for all three couples.

Fun, quick read with heart, a little bit of heat and humor for any rom-com lover.

I really enjoyed Matthew and Eva’s story. It was a lot of fun with plenty of laugh out loud moments. This series has ended up to being one of my favorites of Emma’s!

I tried - I reallyy tried
I couldn't take any more of Eva's bad attitude and complaining all the time - I got to about 60% before I called it a day

I love a marriage of convenience which is why this hurt so much

But I didn't like Eva and I never liked her - even in the other books,

The Accidental Countess is the finale in the "Aristocrat Diaries" and I have had such a blast with these books. They are so wonderfully written and highly entertaining. I do recommend to read this series and really this author in audio. She always portrays the best romantic comedies and I just ADORE these type of covers, I would love for the genre to get back to this style as they are so much better than those a line faceless cartoons lol

What we have in The Accidental Countess is a charming marriage of convenience. I absolutely adore this trope in a contemporary romance and its so delightful to see here. Emma Hart really handled this trope so well. I can be picky about this one here, and it was so well done. I really found it interesting to see how it was set up and that the heroine was so on board with having a baby but yet was fighting her birth control all the time, it was a bit confusing at times. Because she agreed to have a baby with the hero, but yet when his grandmother enforces the idea of her having a baby, she is like well I am on birth control, I won't be pregnant haha

But overall I found this story to be endearing, hilarious and wild fun as only this author can deliver!

Another wonderful romantic comedy from Hart! In fact, this one might end up being my favorite of all three in this series of standalones set in the UK. The relationship between Matthew and Eva is perfect. The way their marriage of convenience comes about is nice too, because it isn’t anything that is an emergency and they do all the things ahead of time to make sure no one can get hurt if things change. That doesn’t mean this story has no ups and downs, it does. But I actually kind of like the way the downs don’t get so deep and dark in this one. I loved the family members of course, the ones we knew from the past books, like Emma’s twin sister Adelaide. And then there was Matthew’s grandmother. When they walked into the house and she and his mother had just arrived back from giving the two of them a little “honeymoon” time, she was singing an Eminem song that just the lines she sang in the book still has that song going through my head. lol

I loved the dogs, the staff, their family, the little town, the setup of what Eva as an artist would find to fulfill herself in her new life in this small quaint town far away from her family. This was the kind of story that was just perfect. I mean I just loved how it all went. The funny times, the little uh-oh moment that I wondered if it would be more than what it turned out to be, and even the romantic times. Eva’s love of toast was funny, and again, made me hungry for toast as well. As usual, the author does such a great job with the banter between our hero and heroine.

The only that maybe I felt was a tiny bit much was how Eva reacted when she found out that it might have been her mistake that caused the big surprise. It really wasn’t that big of a deal, but I guess she had her own “reason” for being that emotional. Oh yeah, and once again, someone calling an event a funfair. I get it, I think, some people call it that? I’ve just never heard it called that and it sounds so redundant to me.

Loved the story, sad this little series is over, but glad to hear we might get more in this same type of setting from the author soon as well!

Eva’s story has been the one I’ve been most excited about.

Eva and Matt have a friends with benefits arrangement and both of them are fine with their arrangement and neither of them wants more in their lives. However, things change and Matt needs a wife and heir. It was just supposed to be a temporary arrangement but not everything works out as planned.

Eva and Matt’s story goes from fwb to marriage and even a child on the way pretty quick, but during that time their connection and their chemistry continues to grow stronger and more feelings begin to develop. Everything moves at a fairly rapid place.

There is plenty of chemistry, hilarious conversations, some spice, and swoon.

If you’re looking for a marriage of convenience rom com this is one to check out.

This was my favorite book in the series and I loved watching Matthew and Eva navigate their marriage of convenience, especially when feelings get real. It was supposed to be easy. Get married, have babies, get divorced, but things get complicated when things become real for these two.

I really enjoyed that the only drama in this story was the fact that they both were catching feelings for each other. I was in need of something light and fun. This definitely hit the mark!

While I’m sad to see this series go, the epilogue was the perfect send off. I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next!
