I always enjoy seeing what Flavia is up to...this was pretty good, not my favorite, but a fun read.

All the greatness of what I expect from Flavia de Luce. Nice that this story takes place in a new setting while the family takes a bit of a holiday from the family home and their recent troubles. And as always, the book is much better read by Jane Entwistle than my own eyes. She IS Flavia.

Continuing my TBR project:
This is one of the oldest selections on my TBR list - Originally added October 18, 2017.

In this episode, Flavia discovers a dead body in a lake where they were taking a therapeutic vacation after the sudden death of the de Luce father. As always, Flavia, with the help of Dogger, investigate and solve the crime(s). This is the ninth novel in the series. I would suggest reading this series in order.

I was glad to get this book back from the library to finish it. It started off a little slow but the second half picked up. I found the scene in the church where Flavia was imagining the death of the three graces a little odd. Still, I liked the story and I really am intrigued with the last page and the promise of where the series can go now.

Delightful as always! Flavia is starting to mature (just a bit!), and I’m loving the direction these are headed.

My FAVORITE thing about this series is the metanarrative! So, do begin at the beginning. Somewhere around book 4 or 5 (I can't remember exactly), the whole story just explodes. This book, like all the others in the series, does not disappoint. Flavia must certainly be my very favorite girl detective! I love all the characters in this series (who are gifted and flawed, tragic, eccentric, funny, and a family), who suddenly, at the end of this one have taken on new flight. These books are so good!!

This installment made a bit of a comeback for me. I really loved this series at the beginning but wasn't crazy about the last two books. And, as always, the narrator for this series is fantastic.
