My Favorite Cowboy is a good fit for readers looking for a heartwarming and passionate love story set in the world of ranching and horse care, featuring a strong, dedicated female protagonist and a tough yet vulnerable cowboy with a military background.

My Favorite Cowboy is more than meets the eye. This romantic suspense novel was definitely more than I originally thought. They say you can't judge a book by its cover and this book is proof. I thought I was going to read a fluffy romance but My Favorite Cowboy was better than that.

Former military, this cowboy has more than a worn pair of jeans on his side. But what a backside! 😆 Two lost souls not even knowing what they were missing. Tragedy brings them together, only to have their insecurities rip them apart.

My Favorite Cowboy By Donna Grant is a romantic suspense with a very HOT cowboy as our hero, Caleb Harper. Audrey Martinez is a well-sought after equine vet. A long time family friend asks for her help in finding out why 4 of his horses are sick. For the longest time I thought this was a “clean” romantic suspense story. It just took awhile to get to any bedroom scenes, well-worth the wait! Almost, immediately Caleb and Audrey find an intense attraction to each other. As the danger closes in Caleb discovers that he has some pretty intense feelings for the beautiful vet. Unfortunately, past demons are keeping him from moving forward with his life. Audrey also has demons of the past and present interferring with her life. Will these two ever find love together or will they let the demons win? This story is told with multiple POV’s, which I like and it was quite easy to know which character was “talking”. I enjoyed this My Favorite Cowboy by Donna Grant and recommend it to anyone who likes HOT alphas with a heart-of-gold and smart, sexy, strong women who bring their men to their knees in the best possible way.

Lots of drama, suspense and intrigue plus a slow burning romance with a rocky road for both Caleb and Audrey.

Audrey is a wonderfully brave, hardworking veterinarian and Caleb is an ex-Green Beret. On the surface, they seem opposites, but both love animals, horses especially and, surprisingly, both have past familial problems that shape their current circumstances.

While the mystery and romance is 5 star (especially the strength of Audrey’s character, along with her sister, Maddy, 1 star was deducted for the very final circumstances both facing Caleb and Audrey, due to the brevity and almost “glossing over” of these events. Also, some situations arose that should have been further addressed within this story, but instead were dropped as if they never happened. (Or at least the reader never hears anymore about them). Purposely being vague to avoid spoilers.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

For Caleb, but wow that was a good book when you get past the heartbreaking stuff.

I thought this was good. The writing flowed well for the most part, but there wasn't really a lead up to what was going on, the reader is put right in the middle of sick horses from the start. It felt like there was part of the story I was missing. Also, I wasn't a fan of all the different POVs in this story. The bad guy gets a couple of spots, and so do a few more secondary characters. I would rather just read from the main characters POV. I did like Audrey and Caleb together, I thought they made a good couple. The had both been through things, and could help each other come to terms with them. The thing with her dad seemed to be resolved way too easily in my opinion. The ending for them was super sweet, and I liked seeing them get their HEA.

**I received a copy of My Favorite Cowboy from St. Martins Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review** The opinions expressed below are mine alone and not solicited in any way.

My Favorite Cowboy by Donna Grant is the third book in her Heart of Texas series. I have enjoyed each one of these books in the series and it doesn't disappoint. This is Caleb and Audrey's story which has intrigue, mystery and each character battling their abandonment issues by parents.

Audrey Martinez is called out to a horse rescue where 3 of the horses are ill by a unknown poison. She's a new equine vet in her hometown and little does she know that someone with a vendetta against her will go to any lengths to destroy the evidence before she can find the cause and cure. When Caleb Harper happens to be there to help her but can both of them get over their parents leaving them when they were young? Will they find the culprit in time while finding out they really care for each other?

Caleb Harper who owns East Ranch with his siblings is horse whisperer looking a new rescues at David's Auction barn who witnesses Audrey puzzling three horses that have fallen ill. He just happens to be there when someone tries to burn all the evidence from the equine necropsy Audrey has done on one of the horses that died. Of course he's going to volunteer to protect Audrey even though both are gun shy from relationships. Can they find the person who seems to have a vendetta against her in time before they escalate to murder? Once they both decide that both Audrey and Caleb are each other's soulmate while resolving their own parental issues.

My hope is that Maddie will fall for either Jace or Cooper in perhaps just one more book?

So I I don't know where to start with this book. The two main characters are running from themselves, from feelings and from commitment and anything revolving a relationship. The author packed so much emotion, and chemistry into this book is was jumping off the pages. The story really gets to the heart of matter, while it also has you on the edge of you seat wondering what is going to happen next, from one page to the next. I really enjoyed the importance of "family" in this book and how sometimes family is what you make of it. I so so am hoping that Maddy's story is coming, her free spirit really shined in this story even though her part was small. This book was so good and I really can't wait to read more from this author. There is some adult language and situations in this book so it may not be suitable for all readers. Over all this book is so worth the read.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Caleb and Audrey are both like minded when it comes to relationships and pretty much don’t do them. I loved that they both were on the same page. They are working together to find out who is hurting the horses. Audrey is a well sought after equine vet and I loved how passionate she was about the animals. Caleb is a cowboy and ranch owner who could be intense and closed off at times but he meant well. When you find out his backstory it all makes sense.

There are two other books in the series and even though I didn’t read them I didn’t feel lost. So in my opinion this is a true stand alone. I love the relationship the brothers and sister have with each other. I love how the in-laws get along. I felt like I was apart of the gang and I will definitely have to read the first two books.

This was my first time reading this author and it wasn’t a bad read. The last few chapters held my attention and I enjoyed how everything unfolded. When the villain and motive are revealed it was something I didn’t see coming. So that was another plus in my book. I really don’t read contemporary cowboy romance books but this was a good read with likable characters.

I read this as soon as I received the eARC last year because everything Donna Grant writes I just can't wait to read them as soon as I get them.

As you all probably already know, I have been a huge fan of Donna Grant's books for a few years now and I have reviewed many of her books.

Anyway, My Favorite Cowboy is book 3 in the Heart of Texas series and I have to say that I have loved this book and this series and yes I loved this book so much. The story is well done and I love Caleb and Audrey together.

If you are looking for a good Romantic suspense book I do highly recommend this series. It is best to read the first and second book first I think.

I do highly recommend this.
