adventurous lighthearted fast-paced

I totally forgot about this story. It’s short and sweet, this edition has some amazing illustrations. And a page with background information, including several different endings that different publishers have chosen to use since the original publication. The consideration for this was de amount of freedom and feminism the story should have. The original is a bit in the middle. This version has left out the part where the prince wants to change her name.

Wonderful retelling of the classic, illustrated beautifully by Brad Sneed. Love the little glimpse of Hans Christian Andersen at the end.

A beautifully illustrated version of the story - we got it from the library. A little dense for little children, but beautiful!

The classic story (which I don't remember reading before) and [a:Brad Sneed|312963|Brad Sneed|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-a7c55399ea455530473b9f9e4da94c40.png]'s beautiful watercolor illustrations make for a wonderful book.
