So this book is very long and it sort of feels like the audience is young adult based on the themes, though the writing is very good and clearly for an adult audience. I would read more by the author.

I think it was too long and the ending felt rushed compared to the pace of the rest of the book. It’s sad and unsettling and there isn’t too much hope to be found, but there are glimmers of it here and there. This book is a good reminder to stay in touch with your humanity and empathy. A little compassion and open-mindedness can go a long way.

I found it a very complete and complex book. I'm not into longer reviews but this book deserves one.
There's two ways of reading it - I think.

1. It's a story of a mother and a son and their not linear ways of processing the loss of the husband/ father (no spoiler, it's the opening scene) - and the ways their lives intertwine with the life of other secondary characters - troublesome and wholesome at the same time.

2. It will make you think a lot, it's very philosophical and it will make you think about how capitalism and technology and climate change and politics are affecting our messy daily life. It deals with different kinds of mental disorders and addiction.
Also, it's an awe to literature and I just loved this side of the book.

Personally I really liked it and I think it will stay in my mind for quite some time.
I'd put 4.5/5 and the only reason it didn't reach the 5stars, for me, is because there are different narratives going on and different voices speaking and I couldn't connect with some of them.

Mood wise: Alt-J's cover of dancing in the moonlight.
