A beautifully written book with some incredible phrasing. It wasn't a page turner but it was compelling enough to keep reading and was definitely worth it

Absolutely beautifully and thoughtfully written. This book is an intense, emotional journey, but following the thematic threads and how they cross one another is immensely satisfying. Although I have finished the book, I haven't stopped thinking about it.

the writing was poetic and so easy to read- definitely a good book to pick up if you’re in a reading rut. the plot was interesting and engaging, with just the right mix of magic and real life. i especially loved the dialogue between benny and the book.


it deals with different mental health disorders, but never in a way that feels heavy or depressing. instead, it gives you characters to root for and moments that really stay with you. ruth ozeki is now my new favorite author.
