A dystopian world that is shrinking quickly with an exponentially rising population. Some people carry the ability to jump their soul between bodies, a select few competing for the chance at a fortune and chance to be lifted from poverty.

Now right off the bat, this book sounded like something I could devour in just a day. I tried desperately to get into it, but there is so much unnecessary world building that the plot does not have the opportunity to grab the reader. I am not opposed to books that utilize a heavy amount of internal dialog and processing, however, much of this story is meant to be revealed at the tail end and it makes connecting with the character and plot incredibly difficult. This was my first ever "did not finish".

I found this book to be boring, unsurprising, and pretty unoriginal.

I was a bit wary of starting this story with no idea about the story of Antony and Cleopatra but honestly I think the books was incredible even if I am missing context for their narrative.
Such a fun setting and interesting way of exploring a story. I loved everything about it and was genuinely delighted by the twists along the way

Ok. I am giving this four stars just because of the ending. What a fucking turn!

It was hard to keep up with the story but i think that is because of my tendencies to read other books during this one. I am going to have to reread it to give it another.

The ending is what sold me thought. I will definitely be buying the next book.
