This was one creepy, freaky book!

This is the story of a twenty year old girl named Carly, who decides she wants to find out what happened to her aunt, who disappeared thirty-five years ago. The aunt, named Viv, originally wanted to go to New York City in 1982 and become an actress, but while hitching a ride with a strange man, she finds herself stranded in a small town called Fell at The Sun Down Motel.

When a night clerk job at the motel lands in her lap, little does she know that she is being set smack dab in the middle of several mysterious murders that have happened in recent years. The motel holds several ghosts, all of whom have a story to tell, and Viv begins to unwind each one.

The novel switches back and forth between 1982 and 2017. There are several twists and turns that will keep readers turning pages. I really enjoyed it. 5 stars.

I loved that this story was told in two perspectives and timeliness. It was just creepy enough that I couldn't listen in the dark! I wish there would've been a little more going on with the ghosts but overall I liked it!

Not what I was thinking and hoping for.

I liked the supernatural elements and the mystery behind the disappearances; however, I feel as though it didn't help with the storytelling. The ghosts felt like a placeholder, only used when needed. There wasn't really a resolution to the ghosts–again, used when needed.

I knew pretty on who might've dunnit. You would like to be thrown off your tracks, but at that point there wasn't an additional clue that could've thrown me off. Once it appeared, it was like I knew.

I guess I was shock at the ending with the twist. But the relationship could have been without.

High hopes with little-to-no rewards.

Loved this! The perfect amount of spooky but most a really propulsive and compelling mystery.
