A quick little read which I thought would be appropriate pre-Paris trip. I've never read anything by Guy de Maupassant before and I'm interested to know how this particular translation compares to longer novels as it was quite irreverent and felt very British and colloquial, which perhaps is capturing the spirit of the original? Anyway, fun and quite cheeky little stories that focus on human nature with a cynical bent.
