I had lots of fun with this book. It’s a fun fantasy adventure with some dark turns. It’s definitely a product of its time as some of the characters are borderline offensive caricatures. Al Larson is definitely the most interesting character in the book, with his PTSD taking center stage. I really like the chapter format of the book. Absolutely hated Silme just all of a sudden being in love with him.
