So i read "The Awakening" about a month ago and only after reading that, did I found out about this book, so because I like reading every book in a series I decided to read this one before continuing with the rest of the series.
I feel like if I had read this one immediatly after reading "The Awakening" I would've liked it better because I was already invested in the characters wich would make me invested in the story from the start. But because i read it a month ago, I wasn't as invested as I could've been and 92 pages weren't enough to make me care.
But I did enjoyed having more background on Darius and Orions relationship.
Also, I already read the first couple of chapters of "As Told by the Boys" and I think if hadn't read this one before I would be really counfused, so I do recommend reading this one.

It's a good prequel to Zodiac Academy: The Awakening.
This novella added some insight into Darius and Lance's relationship BEFORE the Guardian bond was forced on them. I'm glad to see that they were pretty close already, but clearly not THAT close. I still feel like something more was missing to truly SHOW their reasons for being so close and loyal to each other before the bond.😕
It also shed some light into Clara's death and her behavior towards Lance leading up to it. Unfortunately, I still don't like her, nor was I given any information to feel otherwise. She has always been icky!🤮
