Just as entertaining and even more riveting than the first one! Can't wait to read the last one.

Also, I know a lot of readers found that they couldn't connect with Lily or that her story felt like a different book, I really loved her bits. I do agree that Lily's parts did seem like they were from another book, but I found them to be really interesting.

I enjoyed this book. The transitions between time periods were easy to follow. I am looking forward to book three.

ARC from Edelweiss

This is what happens: you are reading along, wondering why that part was in the book and then you look down and realize that you only have 100 pages left in the book and OH MY GOSH how is everything going to be wrapped up!!!! This series just really sucks me in and I LOVE the complexity of Kelsea as a character.

I liked this book just as much as the first in the trilogy, [b:The Queen of the Tearling|18712886|The Queen of the Tearling (The Queen of the Tearling, #1)|Erika Johansen|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1417685148s/18712886.jpg|24267689], but it was much different. Book one was more of a journey tale, whereas this one has more background world building than the previous book, more internal struggle of Queen Kelsea. It sets up the finale well, the promise of more action and a possible "final battle" of good against evil. Good thing the third book comes out this month!

i just hated the graphic sexual assault scenes. it ruined this story, which i had been enjoying.

DNF maybe at 50%

Was dragging a lot. First one was good but this is just like a filler of nothingness and anticipation.
