Twenty years of trips to an island in Northern Michigan as eight friends grow and remain true to to one another through all the changes of life. Some people die and other divorce and remarry, but one thing is constant. That is their friendship.

A nice book about 8 women who take an annual weekend trip to a remote island in Michigan. This book wasn't as interesting as I have found other books about long lasting female relationships. I think perhaps the emotions were a bit more pronounced than the other books I had read that seemed to focus on how those relationships formed and continued. But, still a nice read.

A wonderful tale of women's friendships over the years. But although I've visited Drummond Island, I've never done so when the main activity seems to be getting drunk and then driving on two tracks through the woods, neither of which has any appeal for me. If either, or both, appeal to you, then you'll probably enjoy this book more than I did.

Borrowed this from the library because my friend Pam had it recommended to her while at her favorite Northern Michigan bookstore while on vacation. Drummond Island is about a 1.5 hour drive from our farm, so many of her references are familiar.
