I give this volume 3.5

Once again, I'm entralled by the beautiful art style and the story has me engaged. However, there were moments were I was getting slightly bored with the lore. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE VAMPIRE LORE! I just felt like some of it drawled on and on for several pages to the point where I was just skimming pages. Maybe if I watch those episodes in the anime, it'll make much more sense and then I can go back and read this volume again.

AGAIN IT'S JUST MY OPINION.

I still love Noe and Vanita's travels and the way Vanita's just causes mayhem wherever he goes! Also the odd relationship with Vanita's and Jeanne. Also, I loved the fight scene with the Chasseurs. Really elegant way of telling the battle in the manga!

Vanitas respect women challenge!!
This cover? The beginning interior illustration? The rooftop sunrise "I've decided i'm staying with you...Vanitas." scene? Bro don't even get me started on the whole "After I heard that Jeanne had drunk Vanitas's blood...ever since then...my heart has been hurting....I must have been chagrined that Jeanne beat me to it! I'd been thinking for a while that his blood smelled very good indeed. If this is how it's gong to be, I should have had him let me try some earlier!" Or perhaps the entire VanitasxNoe dancing scene? "I would not truly understand...the meaning of the stirring I felt in my heart...until sometime later" Getting mad cause one risked his life for the other?? And lastly, the Look™️ Noe gave Vanitas on page 206 when he was teasing him oh their dynamic is just so EDIBLE 😩🥵🛐
Domi chewing on Noe when he's saying gay shit about Vanitas oh that should've been ME

I was thinking why do I get the same feeling as Sherlock from them? Then one of my friends said it was actually influenced by them!

This volume seemed to focus more on love and relationships (Noé and Domi, Vanitas and Jeanne). I liked it, I guess. Vanitas has ”feelings” for Jeanne (they seem more like attraction than ”love”, which he says as much). Domi seems to have one-sided feelings for Noé. Noé doesn’t understand love.

I found this all somewhat interesting, but I can’t find myself all that invested in any of the romances just yet.
Vanitas also stated he doesn’t want Jeanne to have feelings for him. Threw me off as to why. Perhaps he’s not looking for anything serious

The Queen of Vampires and the Chausseurs were more interesting to me. I hope to learn more about them.
The chausseurs are related to Vanitas’ past. That Morroau fellow at least
