I loved this book! It may not have had a great depth or a surprise ending but it totally encapsulated the essence of love, simpler times, and innocence. Aren’t those characteristics we all should strive for?!?

This is one of Kristin Hannah's older books - published 23 years ago. Lately she has written more historical fiction stories, while her older books are more domestic based ones. She does a good job with both and I enjoyed this story, even though it had some issues - that I don't want to mention because of spoilers. Overall though an uplifting story of family and love.

Edited to add that today in my FB memories it popped up that I was reading Firefly Lane - my first Kristin Hannah book - 14 years ago! She’s been in and out of my life for a while now.
