So this book takes place in a world where the supernatural is known by the non-supernatural. Yes in this world humans know that supernatural exist and just with this, it makes this book a bit more exciting to read.
Truthfully though, in the beginning I was like what am I reading and why can’t I understand some things? But I did not give up and my perseverance was well rewarded. The book turned out to be a very good read.
This is the second book in the Dark heroines book and the events in it go hand in hand with what was occurring in book one. So rather than having a continuation you get to see what was happening in the other world during the occurrence of book one. For most I think it might have good experience but for me I really wanted more of Kasper and Violet.
Fallon and Autumn may have had their moments but this book just a whole different vibe from book one. I still liked it but I just wish it had more intimate moments like with Violet and Kasper. The main characters were not as really connected as they were supposed to, you know. I imagine if I had a soul mate out there then when we would meet I would feel the connection one way or another.
I do recommend it for all of you supernatural fans out there and I give it a 3 star because I’m expecting a lot more emotions and sparks in the book that follows in this series.

I liked this one even better than Violet, because of the main characters.. I preferred Autumn and Fallon above Violet and Kaspar! Love this series:)

No, just... no.
I've read this book mainly because I bought it with the first book in the series and had nothing else to read.
At the beginning I thought that this can actually work... and that this book is better than the first one. I WAS WRONG. It just goes downhill. I remember that I thought that "Dinner with vampire" ( which is the first book in the series) was bad. This is just equally bad or worse.
I know there are people who love this series, they like the characters in it and enjoy reading about them. I know, I understand. If you like this series good for you, keep on reading.
For me on the other hand this is like a crossover between "50 shades of Grey" with "Twilight" - especially the first book. I don't understand... vampires are supposed to be... at least good according to this book. They're not. Sages suppose to protect people... they usually don't give a damn.
This book... no, just no. If you enjoyed it, good. I honestly disliked it and won't carry on with the series if other books get published.

I was so excited to start this book - I absolutely loved Dinner with a Vampire so was really looking forward to seeing how this story would develop. What I didn't expect was for the book to showcase the same events of book one but from Autumn Rose's point of view. I was a little hesitant at first but there is no repetition in the book; it's all new and fresh and I loved this book even more than the first one! Autumn is a much more likeable character and I truly cared about what happened to her and and the royal family. Even though this book doesn't lead to much progression with regards to the story, it is definitely a great read - truly captivating.

I loved learning about the Sagean community in this book. It was even more fascinating than the world of vampires in the last. I got so immersed in this community and was eager to learn how the events developed from Autumn's point of view. It was a very emotional read and filled with so many *feels* moments. It was difficult to see Autumn attempting to recover from her Grandmother's death and coming to terms with her role as Guardian at her school. She is responsible for ensuring that the students are safe from the Extermino. Autumn harbours a few secrets which are slowly revealed as the novel progresses. I really loved reading from her point of view; everything seemed so much fresher and made for a much nicer read compared to that of Violet's. It was definitely interesting to see the events unfolding which led to the revelation of Violet Lee in Dinner with a Vampire. I love that it has been written like this, but I hope that next bit progresses the story a little more.

Gibbs' writing has developed immensely in this book with the world building being much cleaner and the language is more mature. The world that she creates is so captivating, I really couldn't put this book down. One of my most anticipated reads of 2014 and it definitely didn't disappoint. Abigail Gibbs is definitely a very talented lady and I'm looking forward to reading more from her - bring on book three!

Awful. Poorly written, done in such a fanfiction-type way Gibbs might as well have changed Autumn Rose for Y/N for the whole of the book.
Filled with sexism, misogyny, “pick-me” vibes and slut shaming all the way through. Spent most of the book feeling like the main character needed sectioning for her own safety. Horrific.
The half-British half-American language was infuriating. No one in Devon calls nappies diapers and UK school children do not drop the ‘s’ from maths.

Oh and the most irritating thing was Autumn deciding to strap her guardian sword to her hip for the first day at school and then spends two pages complaining about all the attention she’s getting and how many people are looking at her. Hello?! You’ve got a rapier attached to you! What on earth.

Utter drivel I couldn’t wait to finish it I hated it so much.

I still find that I don't love any of her characters, I know Autumn had depression and I shouldn't judge her for that, but even afterwards I found her annoying. I enjoyed the first book more, but I'll probably still give the third one a chance.

As I said about the other book this is a great sequel and am looking forward to where she takes the characters next. This book shows us another strong heroine and her relationship to another male character but this time its from a more witchy side rather than vampires I love the worlds that she has created and how the magic is shown in here also the reference to the book is hilarious. This is just great and I hope the author is writing more (well planning on more) because these two books are just fab.
