this book went a WAY different direction than I thought it would go.

First off, let me say that I thought it was pretty predictable. I guessed that Beth had a secret sister who committed the murders before Lily was even introduced. Also, anticlimactic as hell at the end. The build up was NOT done well. There was not enough suspense/tension, and the way things were discovered just did not keep me hooked on the story. I was just like “oh, whatever.”

Also……..why the HELL were there ghosts in this story??? What the hell is going on bruh that was so random and I was absolutely NOT expecting ghosts to be involved in this book. And they were introduced in such a weird way/had an odd part in the book, and I did not like the use of spirits as something to deepen the plot & move the story along. Personally, I did not enjoy the way it was engrained in the story but I thought the execution was fine.

I did not feel a huge connection to any of the characters, I did not particularly like or dislike any of them. I thought the romance on the side was fine but random. Michael just was not fleshed-out enough for me.

I did like the author’s writing style and I enjoyed how quick of a read the book was.

I would give it a 4.5 actually. There are two time lines between Beth and Shea.it is well paced and has a paranormal element to it. The plot is well done and the development of the characters was interesting. There was just a couple parts were I found myself thinking is it just going to keep going on and on. Over all though it was a great story and I would definitely recommend it. Just don't read it alone at night.

I made it through about 60% of this book. It is the second book I've read by this author. It was quite compelling in the beginning, but the middle lagged. There were several reveals that should have happened earlier that could have kept me invested through the middle. I like the writing style and the characters are written well.

Reading slump and I just lost interest almost immediately.
