Do you like romances with an age gap between protagonists? If so, this book is for you! Kylie did a great job building this forbidden romance, with a good balance between past and present and a great chemistry between our lead couple, making them steal our hearts. A really hot story, with great side characters, it’s a well written book. I really recommend it!
The ending was such a let down. Overall a good NA book

I haven't delved much into the Silver Fox sub-genre of romance, but when I was asked to review a Kylie Scott Silver Fox romance, I leapt at the chance! I was actually rather surprised by this story and really enjoyed it as well!
I loved Adele as a character...she was funny, smart, sassy and sexy, all rolled into one package! I liked that she was trying to make the best of a bad situation due to her actions in the past, and also how she was trying to move past those actions as well. Pete, however, wasn't letting her.
To me, Pete was a total ass. He didn't try to set Young Adele down gently, he instead did it in the rudest way possible and her dad misunderstood the entire situation because of it. Pete's actions caused the rift between Adele's father and himself, not Adele's. His actions only serve to make Adele flee in shame and embarrassment, and no kind of gentleman would have done that to my way of thinking. It makes things very uncomfortable for Adele when she comes back for her father's wedding. Then Pete's wishy-washyness also gets in the way of the romance. I really hated his back and forth on being with Adele, and how he ended up treating her when the consequences of them getting together manifested. Through it all, Adele handled everything with grace and a touch of sass!
This was an extremely well written book! I was highly engrossed and was sad to see it end! While I had some problems with Pete, this is one book I would not hesitate to recommend!

Andi Arndt is a wonderful narrator, and I’ve loved listening to her narrating Kylie’s Stage Dive and Dive Bar series. HOWEVER, this book featured Australian characters IN Australia and nary an Aussie accent to be heard. *squints and grumbles* That’s just wrong, sorry. ☹️

I have not read a word of Kylie Scott's that I haven't adored, and it is no different with It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time.
The subject matter may be a bit taboo to some people - girl and dad's best friend. The age different may be a bit of a problem for some people - 15 years - however none of this was a problem for me as there was nothing i felt inappropriate.
I adore Adele and that she goes for and sticks up for what she wants, even when everyone is telling her not to. She is blunt, no filter and tells it like it is. She is quirky and funny and I just want to be her friend.
Pete... oh Pete. How I adore you one minute, and want to scream at you next (and not the good type of screaming. But in the end I can't help but love you (plus, you are close to my age so woohoo, no pervy cougar feelings!)
We've all done stupid thing with / to get the attention of our crushes, right? Well, I don't think Adele was thinking things would go the way they did though.
I just wanted Adele and Pete to find their balance, their HEA - but you will need to read for yourself to find out what happens.
Wonderfully written, great characters and a fun yet emotional story. I read this book in one evening, and can't wait to see what Ms Scott brings us next.

There are several things about Kylie‘s Scott’s writing style that I find unsatisfying but primarily the plot and the characters motivations. It’s frustrating because she seems like a good writer. But I’ve read enough of them to recognize it so I think I’m done reading her books.
