THE REYLO AUTHORS GOT ME FR!!!

Bless on this best romance I’ve read in so long. Like I actually love Adam which is surprising cause I usually hate Adam characters. So cute and fluffy and fun. We need more fanfic authors writing romances

I loved this book. I really really really did. And it's odd really. I have strong opinions on teacher-student romance. But it was different somehow. Maybe because Adam wasn't her supervisor or direct teacher. It could be also credited to their unusual connection. Or maybe it simply is that they were both just scientists working in the same facility without trying to jump each other every three minutes. They weren't trying to fall in love. It was quite the opposite. They were just pretending. Or, at least for the most part. It was perfect. Really.

I loved Olive. I loved Adam even more. And their romance, well, it has my heart.

Now I can't vouch for the science part of this book. I don't know if they were factually correct. But as I don't know, it didn't bother me.

Recommended to all fake dating trope fans.

"Carry myself with the confidence of a mediocre white man."

And this is exactly why I like Ali Hazelwood, because she just gets it. And I love that this book was originally a Kylo Ren fanfiction. And that that really shows.

Ali is just a star in writing easy and entertaining stories that give of the right amount of Wattpad vibes in the best way.

I read this in one go as I was just sucked into the story and caught myself smiling multiple times. And I get you girl, if we have to make fictional men I would also go for the extremely tall and broody ones. So scream that of the rooftops because why the hell not.

So unrealistic yet kind of fun. Couldn’t stand Olive’s friend, Ann, and sometimes Olive herself was presented as this “quirky” character which was, ew. Overall, this book is a guilty pleasure.

Another very cute and sciency story from Ali. She certainly has a type with men tho… big, bulky, giant, would  probably knock shit over in a science environment just from breathing on it, or crush a glass tube thingy with his bare hands… but still somehow is a genius with only a few social deficiencies… The banter in this is great. I also love a good “fake dating” trope. Theres not a huge age gap, but i lol’d when she would poke fun at him for being older haha. The side characters were awesome as well, so much personality.

🌶️ 2/5 This didnt really start spicing until about 70%. Im sensing a trend of slow burn, hot spice, then 3rd act break up before all is well with her books. I do like that her spice scenes arnt like exact copies of one another, I mean the dudes overall look seems to be very similar, but they all have different quirks that make them unique, so thats nice.

Am I giving this a five star? Yes, yes I am. It was so funny & charming. It brought tears to my eyes on several occasions. The characters felt true to who they were and the ending wrapped everything up for me. And while yes, it can be annoying when rom-coms do the 3rd act breakup, it made sense for the story and for who they were.
