A lovely book, full of hope and miracles. Great mid grade read that tackles death, family, friendships and the power of belief. Can’t wait to hand sell this.

Perfect example of how middle grade can so subtly ask big questions and leave room for the reader to feel.

This book was about the important themes of loss and the loss of faith and the path to gaining it back. Although I enjoyed this book, it didn't click with me to the level that Redman's previous book [b:Quintessence|46223313|Quintessence|Jess Redman|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1571143904l/46223313._SY75_.jpg|71198855] did.

Perfect for anyone who needs a book for a elementary or middle school kid who has had a death or other loss in his/her family.

3.5 stars. I much preferred the first half over later half, even though the first 60 pages or so are especially sad.

ALL THE STARS for this one. It’s a deeply moving story about a boy named Wunder who studies miracles and whose infant sister dies. In his grief, he finds that he does not believe in the miraculous anymore. The journey that he takes from there is magical and mystical and... I just really loved it.

Middle Grade book that deals with grief, loss and friendship with a bit of the mystical thrown in. 4 stars

A powerful exploration of grief and hope and miracles and broken hearts. I felt like *some* pieces could have been tied up slightly better, so I'm wavering between 4 and 5 stars (really, like 4.5).
