Nice little story. I loved the premise of the book and think it could have been such a great story. I ended up rather unimpressed, though. While it is not a bad story at all, I think it is sad that it didn't really live up to its potential. It was just fine.

3.5 ⭐️ This was an interesting premise, and I was enjoying the story. Then it just… stopped. I’d barely consider it a HFN, and it feels very unfinished. Disappointing, as it was pretty good until then.

This was a cute short story but I do wish it was longer to actually see them together and settled with baby Wayne.
Two years ago Zim needed some fast cash to pay off a loan he really regrets taking out from some shady people. It was that or take against the business and he couldn't do that, he was just getting it up and running with his business partner and friend. Zim ended up donating different bodily fluids and one happened to be a sperm donation. Well, two years later the mother of a baby from his donation unfortunately dies in an accident. Her brother, Clive, takes over guardianship of baby Wayne. Clive would like to learn more about the sperm donor in hopes to find any future medical problems and learn his history to pass to Wayne when he gets older.
Of course, these two are instantly attracted to each other when they meet. Zim is a little taken aback by the reason Clive is there to see him but he takes it all in stride. They get to know each other and Zim gets to see the legacy he left in Wayne. Zim does have a small freak out moment where he ghost Clive for like a week so he can think about the possibility of them having a relationship and how he doesn't feel like he's enough for Clive. They're cute, sweet with each other, and steamy too. Clive's grand gesture was unexpected, so that was a nice touch. I just wish that we got more of their story after the gesture was accepted.
Content Warnings:
- Graphic sexual content between consenting adults
- Mentions of the death of side character (off-page)
- Mentions of dealings with loan sharks
- Mentions of bodily fluid donations (blood, semen, etc.)
- Tattooing (on-page)

The story of Clive and Doug was a very simple little novella. An easy read. There was a lot of focus on the details of a surrogacy which was interesting. I am not sure if the future stories in this series will continue Clive and Doug's lives since this was a very quick read that ended very quickly as well.
