I enjoyed this book. It made me both laugh and cry.
It contains a number of powerful lessons along the central themes of grace and authenticity, and many reminders that you are enough, you are lovable and a loving God is always watching over you.
The audiobook is well read by the author, with lots of relatable, humorous and thought provoking stories.
The only reason that I rated it a 3 is that I don't want anyone to be mislead. In my opinion, it's not for everyone. I like MK and watch her videos, and even with that, I found it to be more God focussed than I expected. I also wish I'd read it 20 years ago because I've learned many of these lessons the hard way.

I was intrigued by the concept but could not enjoy it since I couldn't relate to anything she said. The book is fine, but it isn't relatable if you don't have kids. I understand how having children is a big part of your life, but I wish she wrote more about herself as an adult woman than as a mother with kids.

Solid 3.5 stars. I wish it was more info from her life and not childhood.

Quirks
I liked this book.
It was honest, open, and a great book on real life.
Asking for help if needed, and joining others in the quirks of Christian life.
Great!

This author is funny! It’s the type of book you can read a chapter then a month later read another. It is pretty fluffy and her stories are cute. The faith aspect is very elementary but that’s great for some people!!

I really loved this book, I don’t entirely know what it would take for me to rate a book 5 stars, but this one was really good.
I enjoyed the insight and the relatability. Even parts that didn’t apply to me (I’m not a parent and don’t plan to be), were still interesting enough for me to keep going.
I definitely want to read this one again so I can see what else I get out of it!

Backstrom is about as authentic as you can get, as anyone who follows her videos can attest. This book is full of those real-life stories that make you laugh out loud and sob hysterically (or so I hear...) and it's a valuable read.
I can't give it five stars though, mainly because it feels very disjointed. It reads like a series of disconnected blog posts rather than a cohesive narrative. It's definitely worth the price of admission, but I was kind of expecting more of a guide to navigating the mess.
One note: I am not the target demographic for this book. I'm a straight white married male who doesn't actually follow Mary Katherine on social media. My wife is obsessed, though, and she wanted me (the reader of the family) to read it and write a review. She would definitely give it five stars, in case you're wondering.
I received an ARC (advance copy) of the book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
