I had a feeling I would like this and it did not disappoint. The FMC is pretty relatable, I saw myself a lot in her. She's not only relatable but also really sweet and endearing. When you see a character like her, I mean, how could you NOT like her? I love the MMC too. It's refreshing to see a guy character call up a girl to apologize for making a bad first impression (that came off as a little rude and was unfair to her) and to genuinely befriend her without any ulterior motives or lewd thoughts. Iori is genuinely a great character who I already adore!! I really like the relationship blooming between Yuuki and Iori. Although it isn't romantic (yet), I like seeing their friendship for now. Besides, I don't like when things move too quick in romance anyways! This is a good pacing to see them get closer and get to know each other as friends first. He genuinely cares about her so much, truly just wants the best of her, looks out for her safety, pays attention to her emotions... all u rlly want in a guy tbh...

Tbh, I'm not rlly into love triangles... but I'm just rooting for Iori to win until the end. Seno is a nice guy too but TEAM IORI!!!! Anyways, this was a nice first volume to a realistic college romance manga series :) WITH NO TOXIC CHARACTERS! Def gonna continue reading this to see Iori & Yuuki's relationship develop further.

This is such a cute, wholesome, and somewhat timely romance manga. Although the characters aren't that developed first or like there's not much of a depth into them so far, I still did enjoy it.

I also wasn't expecting a love triangle, but it was a lovely one. This is the first time I did enjoy a love triangle in a story and is really hyped for the 2nd volume.

~Thank you, Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for the copy ✨️~

Guys, I already know I'm going to be obsessed. This manga started out *strong*. Gosh, it's so cute and already had multiple blushy, kick you feet happy moments. I am liking the plot so far. A cute but lonely girl looking for a soulmate similar to her first childhood crush, gets set up by a guy she just met. Honestly, the story is a classic and I love it.

This was unexpectedly great! This Shoujo manga is a romance lover's dream, and I just ate it all up.

This story follows Yuuki, a 20-year-old college sophomore who hopes to one day find her soulmate and ends up finding herself in the middle of a love triangle!

I really love how the different characters motivations and personalities are explored, and there are so many things I can't wait to find out about in the next volume!

This is going to be a fun one to see who's team everyone is on *ahem team Lori* and this would be a great starter manga for romance lovers who have never read manga before and want to try it out.

I will absolutely be reading the rest of this series and checking out Anashin's other series which is a basketball romance!

*Thank you to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.*

I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

I just HAD HAD to have this one when I spotted it up on Netgalley! I mean, I just LOVE a good shoujo and especially when it takes place in university/college.

In this one we meet a girl named Yuuki, 20 years old, and feeling lonely as heck! And she is ready to find her soulmate! To find a guy she likes and she wants to date! But she has zero experience, like, I thought I was a disaster before I met my now hubby, but this girl is also pretty hopeless, haha. I loved how her friend took her under her wing, went clubbing, and how she went from having zero prospects to having 3. Well, OK, 2 that she is interested in and one guy who has sadly fallen off the boat and has zero chance (yep, that poor guy, I just felt for him, he was crushing so hard). Yep, the dreaded love triangle, but you know what? I didn’t mind it at all in this one. It was written pretty well and I was just so curious who she would fall for. Her childhood crush? Or the guy she just met? As of the end of the volume there has been many swoony moments with the guy she just met (and I am shipping them badly), but there also have been sweet moments + confessions + a good hearty talk that was needed with the childhood crush, so my opinion on him went from OMG the fucker (because of things that were said in the past) to OMG I need this guy as well. Haha. And that is a good sign for me. I am all open for both options to be come her boyfriend.

Yes, the childhood crush was a bit of a fucker at the start from what we learn. Our MC, Yuuki, made lunches and she thought he liked it… but there is more to it. I loved that Seno took the chance he had when he found Yuuki again, tried to be friends again, and then also was honest about things. About the bento. About his feelings. About what was really going on. And frankly, hearing THAT story, I can imagine him not wanting to go for that. UGH. shivers I really loved how hard he worked. How he was hoping to find her again. It was so cute!

But then there is Iori, the new guy who is very hot and very funny and very sweet. He really takes Yuuki under his wings, but you can quickly see he is not doing it just because. He actually really cares for her and it was just the cutest thing. I loved how he came to pick her up when she was drunk. I loved how he tried to build up her confidence when she was unsure about her cooking. And there were so many cute and swoony moments between the two of them. I found myself at a few occasions shouting at my screen that these two should just KISS already!

I also love Yuuki’s best friend, we see her sporadically as the manga progresses, but I really liked the girl. She is so sweet and supportive and I hope that she also has luck in the dating game. So far it seems she is doing fine, haha, but she has dreams and so all the guys so far are not the one.

The art in the manga was really pretty. 100% shoujo.

The manga ends on a cliffhanger and HOT DANG I need the next volume. What will she do now? What will Iori do? I NEED TO KNOW!

All in all, a wonderful manga with fab romance and I cannot wait for more! Read this one!

This digital ARC was obtainable via NetGalley for an honest review!

I was beyond excited to be able to read this as an ARC. I've had my eye on this manga for months now. I love romance manga and "How I Met My Soulmate vol. 1" was so good! Iori is very considerate and sweet. I am rooting for him & Yuuki. Can't wait to see what is in store for us in vol. 2!
