Wow...that ending was dark omg how did this book get away with so much brutality!!!
This book is definitely one of the best in the series so far with its shear brutality at the end and the story leading all the way up to it, it really shows how war and violence no matter how necessary is never good.
The characters, as always, are really well written and thought and I thought the Chee were really cool!! The only thing that is keeping me from making this a full five stars is, funny enough, the Chee as they make a huge coincidence as they just so happen to come to Earth bc of their home getting taken from an enemy race...like yeah it makes sense but it also just really doesn't since they day Earth is most like theirs, like, is there not a single other planet in the universe kinda like theirs!?!?
And also the ending when they get rid of crystal, I know that it is deeply in Marco's and the rest of teams character to get rid of crystal bc it is just so powerful that even if they win with it it just is not worth it at all, I still am just like, THIS SERIES WOULD BE SHORTER IF YOU JUST USED THE CRYSTAL REEE!!! But fr tho, this series is so damn good omg!!
