Marie Warren is headed west with her husband and his twin sister on a wagon train. She's an admirable woman, a hard worker, and devoted to her family. But she yearns for more in her marriage than her husband is willing to give. Along the trail, she'll face danger and hard truths before she can find her happiness.
Sam Granville is the leader of the wagon train escorting families to Oregon Territory. When he's sent to fetch Marie at her husband's behest, he walks into a situation he's not expecting. From that moment on, Marie continues to charm and surprise him.
Unavoidable is a wonderful historical romance with memorable characters, set against a well-researched backdrop of the hardships of the pioneer life. The ending felt a bit rushed, but all in all, this is definitely remaining on my keeper shelf.
