I'd been following the author for a while on insta and am glad j finally read her book! not too thought provoking if you've read her reporting or generally stay up to date on influencer news, but i appreciated hearing sbout the journeys of folks i didn't know before, and i like Stephanie's voice.

Wry interesting to see how influencing was formed and has shifted through the past decade

An interesting but not terribly in-depth look at influencers and influencer culture.

Much of this was pretty shocking or at least thought-provoking, though some parts felt like filler and dragged a bit. It does make me want to get off Instagram!

I’m so glad I listened to this book; it’s going to save
Me a lot of money on the future!
The info shared about the influencers in the book was interesting.  The author did her research.  I do think she erred on the side of defending influencers.  Overall, the book was written in a way that was very basic.  The narrator sounded like a 20 something white girl from the valley.  I am glad I listened to it because it confirmed the conclusion I had come to - stop buying from and supporting influencers- is the right thing to do.
