Major TW: domestic violence
“Seven is the magic number. A talisman. It is the average number of times a woman will attempt to leave an abusive partner before she’s finally successful.”
Quite an interesting premise. Can a name change the course of a life? This book follows Bear, Julian, and Gordon. The same person in the physical form, yet who would they be based on their name. It is VERY heavy and dark. You are hit in the face with the subject matter unexpectedly right away. The book is set in increments of 7 years. I did find it somewhat confusing and I think if I reread it, I would cluster together each character’s story and read them at once instead of how this book is set up. It gave me a lot to think about and would make a good book club book, although may be triggering to some readers.
Easter eggs were dropped in each life and the ending ties it all together nicely. It was kind of reminiscent of Sliding Doors, how one small decision can change the course of a life.
Also, Bear ❤️

I found this book difficult to follow. I would almost have rather read each version of names individually
