If you are looking for a fast murder/thriller teen beach read, this is it- something I'd 100% recommend for the PLL set. I won't be mad at the book for being what it is, but the ending definitely let me down. It seems like the author left a lot out of answers to questions in the final chapters and even basic research things throughout revolving around "influencers" seemed missing [ex. the gamer is not streaming on Twitch?!]. I wasn't a fan of the voice or writing style, felt very forced, but again for a simple summer beach read it is tolerable. It's a book made for booktok and booktok only.

This book was so good, but I hate how she ends on a cliffhanger, right in the middle of the final action. I guess it just leaves the reader to assume what happens next. Her newest book, “The Dare” does NOT do that, thankfully.
I thought the rest of this book was very good, though. I was thoroughly shocked by all of the twists, and my heart was pumping during the tense scenes! I would say this is a good YA thriller, if you don’t mind coming to your own conclusion about how it ends.

Moderate: Murder, Child death, Fire/Fire injury, Abandonment, Gun violence, Violence, and Injury/Injury detail

This was a step out of my comfort zone as prior to this I didn’t read much of this genre. Preston is incredible at painting a picture in your mind. I felt like I could so clearly map out the park which helped me really get into this story. It started off a little slow and at some points I wanted to give up thinking “this is so easy to guess what is happening next or who did it…however I am glad that I stuck with it because I could have never anticipated the plot twist! Looking forward to reading more by this author.
