The dialogue was great. I was underwhelmed by the narration. Was somewhat monotone and paced too quickly.

If you are looking for a faithful narration of Persuasion, you won’t find it here. However, this dramatic adaptation brings to life the novel (which at times can be a bit tedious and slow-going) and keeps you engaged throughout. I could have done without the intense transition music, but Florence Pugh’s narration more than makes up for it. As with all the Audible adaptations, if you’re looking for an approachable way of enjoying Austen, it’s a great choice.

Persuasion is definitely not my favorite Austen novel. It mainly hinges on the fact that I don't really like Anne Elliot. It's probably because as an overly confident, loud woman, Anne's stoicism is not a character trait I admire. However, this performance with narration from one of my current favorite British actress (Ms. Flo) is very enjoyable. It's like a warm relaxing bath or cup of tea with heavy cream- just what I needed after a tough week. While I don't care for Anne, I do like the side characters. I actually like her sister Mary, even if she's a bit much. But to be fair, I'm probably a bit much too.
