This one introduced some interesting dynamics - for once the men had a bit more variation in personalities. It was a nice change to see some mxm content included since these reverse harem’s somehow manage to be extremely heterosexual most of the time. The murder plot was pretty luke warm, the culprit ended being a bit of a twist but nothing spectacular. Definitely not the strongest in this series.

I feel like if you reject someone who wants to reject you.. it should just cancel out the entire rejection and let them live their lives. Just saying.

Despicable introduces you to Trix. She was in the process of moving to a new pack with her family when she ran into her mate. It wasn't love at first sight really because she didn't want him. It just sucks ass that once he found out she wasn't a virgin he rejected her. Not sure why that's a huge deal because we know for damn well he probably wasn't one either.

Again, just saying.

Luckily for her, she went to this weird ass rejected island and found her little harem. So in lots of ways, I consider her the huge winner from this outcome. Sorry Chad.. you suck. Other than her meeting these delicious guys, there's some drama on the island but not a whole lot. Yeah, people are dying and such but I wasn't that invested into the actual murder mystery going on in the background.

In the end, it was cute and easy to read but I feel like not a whole lot happened either. I was happy with the little reunion at the end though.

This was the perfect amount of story, romance, mystery and even pages for an easy read standalone. It was a simple concept, there was a bit of mystery, we had a romance and we had our happy ending/conclusion. It all wrapped up beautifully and I feel like I have no answered questions.

I loved our female main character, she was strong, confident, sassy and she was still humanized. She had feelings but she did her best to overcome what had happened to her. She had accepted her life, took control and, when she did finally find a mate, she thought for herself. Although she did still get sent away, she made the best of her situation and found love. Real love with those she chose, got along with and were a more perfect fit. Maybe that was really was what fate was doing when they chose her a “fated” mate.

The men were different, each distinguishable and I don’t think I can choose a favorite. We didn’t delve too deeply into their psyche, we learned about their past, their rejection and found they cared for our FMC. We didn’t need to know that much more than that for this book and it worked.

To keep the book is interesting, and not just about the romance, there was a little bit of a mystery on the island. Nothing crazy but it kept the book entertaining. Throw in a previous character and it got even better.

This was an easy read, a very simple and cute standalone. I feel like it had a bit of everything: just enough romance, plot, mystery and entertainment.

This was such a fun book! I adore that you can get so many different takes on shifters with how many stories are out there!

Despicable tells the story about Bellatrix. She is a little older than the typical age range wolves find their fated mates, so she was happy to just do her own thing. One day she suddenly finds him, and it goes bad quickly. He rejects her, which means one thing. She must live out her life in seclusion on a remote island dedicated to rejected mates.

Living on the island is not always easy, and the few shifters that are there are a hit or miss on friendliness. But Dax, Creed, and Ronan help her discover that there is more to live for.

A mystery starts to unfold during Trix’s time on the island and lives are at stake. I really enjoyed that mystery/suspense aspect to the story. Figuring out who the bad guy is along with the characters. This is a standalone, so these characters get their HEA by the end of the book.

Emotion-filled quick read

I really enjoyed this book. I'm new to this author and was pleasantly surprised by how I was sucked into this world right away.
