I read the first book in this series and loved it. I didn’t read the second one, but thought it would not affect the reading enjoyment of this one, and except for some blank parts, it really didn’t. This book is not as good as the first one, mostly because it didn’t flow very well. The present and past scenes didn’t sync well enough as to make sense of what was happening in the present.
Jameson and Luke are Chaos King MC royalty. From the moment Penelope met both boys at thirteen, she’s had a crush on Jameson but he’s always shown only friendship, while Luke always flirted with her. There are moments where it’s made clear to us readers that Jamie has feelings for her but keeps them hidden.
Fast forward into the future, Jameson is President and wants the club to run clean business, Luke is going rogue because he wants to run dirty business, Penny is pregnant with Luke’s baby but he rejected her, humiliated her, and made the other members disrespect her. When chaos ensued, Jameson took Penelope away into the protection of the Stone Riders, while he makes plans for his decimated club.
I love the pregnancy trope and loved that Jameson protected Penny against all costs. What I didn’t like is that he always hid his feelings and in so doing constantly hurt Penelope. I hurt for Penny because she felt unloved, rejected, unwanted, and in the midst of a pregnancy when you’re the most emotional. However, Jamie’s actions are a true portrayal of his feelings.
There are a lot of MC politics, conniving, threats between clubs, and potential danger to Penelope. I hurt for Penny, as she fights feeling unwanted and unloved. There are a ton of miscommunications between Penny and Jamie and I could cheerfully slap Jamie for being so clueless. The couples from the previous two books appear, the men give support and protection to the couple, the wives offer much needed friendship to a lonely Penelope.
Jamie offers marriage to protect Penelope and of course, what starts as fake ends up being real. It was great to see this couple turn into a family amidst all the threats against them and mostly to the baby. It was entertaining, super steamy, action-packed, and suspenseful. It ends in a sorta cliffhanger that tells us what the next book will be about. Thrilling!

So sweet. I love a good pregnancy romance. The spice in this was off the charts. I love how the MMC just drops everything for this woman. Its not his kids but it is. She didnt pick him first but hes there for her. Its a kicking your feet and giggling type of thing.
I went into this book not reading the first two books and I completely fell in love and NEED to read the first two!!
I loved Jameson and Penelope so much!! The pining and angst between these two was so good! I loved that we got past and present timelines. These two have wanted each other since they were 13 years old, but Jameson knew the life he would lead as the President of his MC and didn't want that for Penelope. She ends up pregnant with his traitors baby and the only way to protect her is to marry her and claim the baby as his.
Jameson is obsessed!! I loved how much he loved her. He watched her for years and knew everything about her. I felt for Penelope. She just wanted to be wanted and after years of rejection from Jameson she wanted to believe she can finally have the life he is presenting her. I loved how he totally stepped up at the end of her pregnancy! I loved how emotional and vulnerable Jameson was as well. I love it when a man can show his feelings! I loved all the secret moments they had growing up that we get to see with the past timelines. And the twists at the end!! WOW!! I can't wait for Silas and Natty's story!!
Thank you Ashley Munoz for this ARC.

Ashley succeeded at making my least favorite trope (pregnancy) so enjoyable and moving through Penelope and Jameson’s story, that it literally brought me to happy tears
medium-paced
The most frustrating book of the series. I wasn't invested in either main character, and found the whole concept so mundane. Literally if they'd just had a normal conversation everything would have been resolved in chapter 2.
