Book #5 for 2013
Despite its amusing drawings and the occasional turn of phrase that made me chuckle, I cannot recommend this book. It paints Vikings in an extremely unflattering light, suggesting that all of them were dim-witted, devoid of any culture beyond waging war, and not quite human. Does the author truly believe that Vikings did not have any concept of friendship? Wow. I wonder if he thinks that about African tribes, too. Maybe he should try writing a similar book about a pre-colonial family from Black Africa and see what reaction he gets.
