2.5* rounded up for good intentions. Like all the books by this author I've read so far, this one is too long and pointlessly meandering. But it still managed to be entertaining and even enjoyable. I liked the characters and the friendships much more than the romantic [mis]adventures of the main character or the whole ridiculous prophesy plotline.
In fact I didn't feel any romantic vibes in this book at all - between any of the characters, but the story of enduring friendships, self discovery and familial support made up for the disappointing romance.
This book also feels like it belongs in the 90's somehow. I kept wondering whether it was just dusted up from the back of a desk drawer where it had spent at least 2 decades before publication.

I wanted to love this, as I loved the first so much and it is nice, light hearted read, the characters were lovely and the story heartwarming, but I found Sarah slightly silly and irritating with her Steven obsession, I know it’s the point of the story but I found it too far fetched and ridiculous how obsessed she was, still nice if you get past it. A nice read but not silly

This was just what I needed at the end of a hectic year, a lovely balm to my soul. It's a great romance even through normal problems people experience. There was 1 that wasn't normal but was needed for the story.
