I opened this book at a perfect time, because I’ve been feeling frustrated and angry about certain issues and how they’ve been portrayed in the media lately, and this book tackles some of those issues. I absolutely loved it, and will be haunted by it in the best way for a long time. It was dark, intense, suspenseful, and full of raw emotion. I would suggest everyone read it...but it’s not for the faint of heart. Whew.
More of a 3.75
Is it horrible that I preferred the first half of the book to the second? (Though I will say that I did really appreciate the end, even if I didn't entirely like how it had been set up.)

I think I’d love this more if I read it when it came out, before seeing Promising Young Woman. It’s still a good book that’s worth reading.
This book is pure gold. But you need to go into it with the right headspace. Do not be fooled by the cute animals on the cover, or even the broad description posted on the Goodreads page, this book is dark and angry and so so so important. As someone who wasn't really aware about rape culture until I went to college, I think that it is amazing there is a piece that talks about it openly and without a sugar-coated shell ESPECIALLY in YA. TW for rape & rape culture as that is the central theme.
4, maybe even 4.5 stars. I went into this book blindly and was definitely not prepared for any of it. I was in no way expecting it to end like it did. Good read! There was a point in the middle where I got a little bored and was thinking this would be a 3 star read at best. Pleasantly surprised to have given it a better review!

Muy bueno. Brutalmente bueno. Aterrador, genial, honesto. No sé.
I currently feel too much to properly articulate how much I love and need this book in my life.
This is a powerful book that illustrates the violence of sexual assault and harassment in a jarring, compelling way. Alex is probably one of my favorite YA characters to date... she had me the moment I learned she works at an animal shelter. The ending scene in the school was particularly poignant, even if that was not the climax of the book.
