It was funny the 1st time I read it, and I found it to be even more so the 2nd time
My son insisted that I read this book and I'm glad I did. The performance on this audio version is very well done. The supernatural characters and the people team up in a very original and delightful story.
Definitely enjoyed listening to the full cast audiobook over reading the book, helped me follow along with the plot a lot better :)

EDIT: i should just stop reading or listening to or simply enjoying ANYTHING crafted by cis men, especially white ones at that. they just always turn out to be racist or homophobic or transphobic and if for once they are not, or at least not outwardly so, they still manage to be - well, WHATEVER THE FUCK THIS IS NEIL HOW DARE YOU??!
my full solidarity with the survivors <3
the first fantasy book that i read in a long time (apart from my pery jackson reread last autumn)
this was really cool - in some ways i could totally see my more attentive 14 year old safe loving this. maybe some of the stuff would have gone over my head, but i think i would have had loads of fun.
many of the male characters in this novel are great - crowley, azerophael (no idea how to write this, i listened to the audiobook), adam, the old witch hunter guy. i guess madam tracy and pepper are ok too, not great but ok. i just didn't quite like the way anathema was written - she feels somewhat like a manic pixie (or rather witchie) dream girl, only for the benefit of that boring guy whose name i can't remember.
i also loved the personifications (even war, i think), and i liked all the imagery and all the cheeky little details. i started to watch the tv series along the way and i actually think it's a fabulous adaptation - i understood some things that went over my head while reading.
i think i would have liked the worldbuilding to be a little more interesting at times, and i was a big fan of how everything was tied up neatly in the end, but i think i wasn't attentive enough all the way along to get everything.
i thought the way global warming (or rather, pollution and killing whales) was brought up was really interesting - somewhat out of date in the specifics, but quite accurate when it comes to its being (at the very least part of) the reason for armagheddon.
the part on the whaler was the worst part of the audiobook though because of the racist accent. otherwise the audiobook was fabulously read and i had loads of fun. i wasn't captivated the way i used to be by fantasy books as a child / young teenager and i think that's ok, and i am glad to have found out that i can still get through fantasy books and enjoy them by listening to them.
i feel like this review doesn't do the cute little details of this novel justice, but then these are also just some notes to myself as always, so sorry :)

The world is going to end. On Saturday. This has been long in the making, and was foretold centuries ago by an eccentric woman named Agnes Nutter. You would have known this if you had read her book. Of course, you would have to find a copy of the elusive tome, as only one is still in existence.
An angel from heaven and an angel from Hell – kind of … friends? … since back in the day when the one from Hell talked Eve into taking a bite of that apple. Both trying to stop the world ending once the antichrist turns 11. Which just happened this week.
A young woman who is also a witch…and a descendant of Agnes Nutter. She’s been reading and following Ms. Nutter’s predictions her entire life. Now that the world is ending, she’s going to try and do something about it.
A young man, who has a knack for screwing up technology just by being around it, starting on a new “career” as a witch hunter. Something isn’t right and he’s going to investigate.
All come together in this fanciful tale about the end of the world. Mark your calendars. It’s happening on Saturday.
