Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins

Now this is a good beach summer read for those who need a twisty adventure! I knew it would be good but I didn’t think it would make me swear off impromptu boat travel with strangers, deserted islands, and men with lots of money.

Lux and Nico are adorable cute and from the outside it seems perfect. When they are hired by two travelers to visit a remote island for two weeks, the money was enough for them to say yes.

What follows is mayhem, surprises, secrets, and a whole lot of distrust.

It was a wild ride that I couldn’t put down. I read 90% in one day.

I was enjoying this one until the end when I was, once again, disappointed by Hawkins.

Strong thriller, really keeps you guessing. It isn’t the fastest thriller but after they find Robbie, things really get going. I really enjoyed how the story came together. It felt like everything made sense at the end and the ending itself was a good twist. Definitely recommend this to anyone that likes a woman led thriller.

The story is about a womanly who is dating Nico. Nico gets hired to charter a ship to Meroe Island by two ladies, Brittany and Anna. Once there; they meet another couple, Eliza and Jake. And finally a solo sailer, Robbie.

I kinda hate thrillers like this when I don’t have any strong positive feelings about any of the characters. They all just seemed too crazy to me. Even Lux who I feel like I’m suppose to like sucked as a person. I feel like they all were escaping and avoiding situations and it bothered me. I did enjoy the intensity of the last few chapters.

I kind of liked how twisted this book was. The idea that they went to an island that they then felt was theirs but slowly discovered that they were not each others made for a really intricate story. I did guess the ending a little bit but I liked that it wasn't as dark or gruesome as some of the other thrillers I've read.
