Enemies to lovers, (chief of police x president of motorcycle club), opposites attract on steroids, intriguing plot, amazing side characters.. I didn't need more convincing to read this amazing book.

It was such a captivating read. Gunner and Chief Witter (Ben) loathe each other since they're on opposite sides of the law, and what's worse, they unknowingly share an ex-lover who has died (we learn that in the very beginning of the story), and now they are working to solve a case together.
I loved both characters, and how their relationship unfolded, and I could feel the strong connection between them. A lot of things happen throughout and we see how they interact and deal with their conflicting morals.
Also, I usually don't care for side characters, but in just a few scenes GH made me need both Winter's and especially Bloom's books. (I honestly can't wait for that little brat's story, already know it's gonna be so good.)
The one thing that bothered me in Gunner was that one MC was a bit of a slob in the beginning but I guess it was justified? He eventually got his act together.
Still, 10/10 would recommend!

This book is not a standalone; this series should be read in order.

This story was written so well!!! I could see everything playing out like an actual movie in my head as I was reading this book. Gunner and Ben’s relationship was perfection. The way Gianni wrote the progress of their relationship was…. Ugh… so good! I loved that Gunner always spoke his truths… Ben was always at war with trusting his emotions and being enough for his partner. Both MMCs never deviated from who they were.

I think what I liked most about the story was it was very realistic. Nothing was sugar coated to make it easier to read … does that make sense??

Anyway… great read! Great story with perfectly written characters

Gunner is an enemies-to-lovers MC romance. I’m not the biggest fan of enemies to lovers trope, but I might have to rethink my stance. I really loved how Gianni captured their complex relationship.

I enjoyed how Ben and Gunner’s relationship evolved from two men willing and ready to kill one another to a high-heat, possessive romance with deep love between the two.

The chemistry between Ben and Gunner is explosive and so raw. These two aren't just enemies but total opposites too. Ben is a straight-laced officer who wants things done by the book, and then you have Gunner, who is all about throwing rules out the window.

I loved seeing how their feelings towards one another evolved from hatred to love. The attraction and lust are there, but deeper feelings between the two take a while to develop. I loved how Gunner was the one committed; he was by Ben's side - no matter how hard Ben tried to push him away.

How he was by his side taking care of him was amazing. He didn't run away or react to Ben pushing away - he understood why and knew he needed to prove that he would always be there and put him first. I wouldn’t say Gunner is romantic in the traditional sense but his actions and intense care is swoony. He just tries so hard for Ben and you can’t help loving that.

Both men loved Mason but got played by him. Ben especially. He fell in love with Mason and wanted to have a life with him. Mason pushing him away and cheating on him caused insecurities and trauma in him. So I can totally understand his hesitation towards Gunner - this is not even considering that Gunner is a biker and he’s the acting police chief and the man who his lover had affairs with.

Mason’s ghost was with us throughout the book. Reading his journal entries felt like he was there hanging over the reader just like the way he was a constant dark cloud over Gunner and Ben.

Overall I enjoyed Gunner. Ben and Gunner totally captured my heart and deserved their well earned happy ever after.

I can’t wait for Bloom! It’s my most anticipated book from the Smoky Vale world. I’m also excited for Winter and Priest’s story.

I truly enjoyed this book from front to back. The story was phenomenal & captivating! I loved Gunner and Ben together 🥰 & this was true enemies to lovers! Like they legitimately did not like each other at allll 🤣 I enjoyed seeing them work through their hatred for each other as well as working through the issue/person that connected them to one another (which was so unique in my opinion) Great addition to the series & I’m super excited for book 3
