Definitely my favorite out of the Sanderson books so far. It left the story on a far more hopeful note than many of his other works and the romance was mature and strong without overwhelming the story. I think Raodan is officially my favorite Sanderson character.

I really enjoyed Elantris! It is an epic tale and speaks to many themes in our everyday lives.

I was hesitant to read this since it’s Brandon Sanderson’s first book, but let me just say, I was intrigued from page 1.  Plus, the characters might be some of my favorites of his.

It does show a bit that this is his first novel, especially in the minor details of the writing and dialogue, but this is still an incredibly well crafted fantasy novel that (as I have come to expect from Sanderson) brings everything and the kitchen sink to an immensely intense climactic final act
