A lighthearted, funny read, Snappsy the Alligator was a book that had me laughing out loud! Snappsy is a regular alligator going about his life when he is interrupted by a voice who is inaccurately narrating his life. Snappsy is aware that he is in a book despite him not wanting to be, which creates a meta-fiction story that can be new to young readers. Children will enjoy this refreshingly funny story!

A humorous story about an alligator who doesn't appreciate a nosey narrator intruding on his business.

Funny idea, a bit unevenly executed. I'm also not entirely sure a kid would follow what makes it funny. Maybe, though!

I like fourth wall breakers but I imagine a lot of it went over my nephew's head.

I came into this book with a bias against it since the illustrations look so much like what Mo Willems does. But I did really enjoy that the narrator actually makes an appearance at the end (he's a chicken) and actually joins the story as a participating character. That was a different twist that took me by surprise - and I love it when a book surprises me. :)

This is going to be fun to read to the summer day camp I visit. :)

I liked it, but it's a bit snarky for my taste. I think my daughter is too young [6] to fully 'get it' [re: the narrator and the back and forth between the main character and the narrator]. We both appreciated the happyish ending, though.

A fun book. A *grumpy* alligator going about his day objects to having his actions narrated. He's not hunting down small animals, he's going to the grocery store!
