This book was written while Mr. De Wind was in the concentration camps. He would write about what happens on scraps of paper. It was translated into a book after the war. A reminder of how awful human being can be to one another and what we cannot allow to happen again.

An incredible story ❤️

This is a hard book to read, but an important one.
Detailing Eddy's life during his time at Auschwitz, it's thought to be the only book ever written in Auschwitz itself.

It focuses a lot on the every day life and the hierarchal structure between camp mates itself. It looks at how Eddy was able to sneak around to still have contact with his wife, and the hard decisions that you have to make in order for yourself and your loved ones to survive.

Let us never forget the past. this book is awe-inspiring hearing first hand of what Auschwitz was really like. He running into Josef Mengele and not realizing how evil he was. this is worth the read or listen.
